Studio Note
A movement that does not stand still.
Many of the works in the current presentation are new or newly evolved. Some earlier paintings no longer speak to the artist in the same way, so Aladeogo has painted new concepts over them or combined several works into one stronger piece.
This practice moves like a living body of work: changing, gathering memory, and becoming something new each day.

Oluwaseun Aladeogo is a Nigerian multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores identity, spirituality, memory, rhythm and emotional introspection through a contemporary African lens. Born in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria, Aladeogo's artistic language is deeply informed by personal history, cultural symbolism, and the emotional textures of everyday African life. Working primarily in painting, his practice blends elements of African expressionism with a distinctly modern visual sensibility, creating works that feel both intimate and universally resonant.
Artist Statement
I create from emotion before technique.
My work is rooted in memory, spirituality, silence and the unseen experiences people carry within themselves. Growing up in Nigeria shaped the way I understand colour, movement, resilience and human connection, and these ideas continue to guide my practice.
Painting allows me to translate feelings that are often difficult to explain in words. Sometimes the work begins from personal experiences. Other times it emerges from observing people, culture, faith, struggle, hope and the emotional rhythm of everyday life.
For me, painting is not only about image-making. It is about presence, reflection and emotional truth.
